About the role
We're building a global bench of experienced accounting professionals to help shape the next generation of AI systems that can reason, judge, and perform real-world accounting work. This isn't traditional bookkeeping or client work — it's a chance to translate your professional judgment, technical expertise, and years of hands-on experience into structured tasks, evaluation rubrics, and scored work samples that directly train and benchmark advanced AI models.
We're looking for practitioners across the full spectrum of accounting practice — audit, tax, financial reporting, controllership, forensic accounting, bookkeeping, and accounting systems — with either US GAAP/PCAOB expertise, IFRS/ISA expertise, or both. Whether you specialize in public company reporting, enterprise controllership, or technical accounting research, your knowledge is directly applicable here.
What you'll do
- Design realistic, high-fidelity accounting scenarios drawn from real-world workflows: journal entries, reconciliations, close packages, financial statement preparation, disclosures, audit procedures, and technical memos
- Translate everyday accounting judgment and decision-making into structured, high-quality training data for AI systems
- Define what "excellent work" looks like by building task-specific grading criteria and rubrics for accounting deliverables
- Score completed work samples with rigorous, well-reasoned written justifications and feedback
- Build evaluation tasks calibrated to the reporting complexity and materiality stakes of major public company and enterprise accounting functions
- Contribute to either a US track (US GAAP, PCAOB standards), an International track (IFRS, International Standards on Auditing), or both
- Collaborate with a distributed team of accounting experts and AI researchers to continuously refine task quality and evaluation standards
Requirements
- Significant professional experience in one or more areas of accounting practice: audit, tax, financial reporting, controllership, forensic accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting systems
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS, with familiarity in PCAOB or International Standards on Auditing a plus
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound professional judgment on complex, real-world accounting scenarios
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to articulate reasoning and justify decisions clearly
- Comfort working independently in a remote, project-based capacity
- Professional accounting credentials (CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
Compensation
This is a flexible, remote contract opportunity with rates ranging from **$70–$160/hour** depending on experience, specialization, and track (US GAAP/PCAOB vs. IFRS/ISA). Multiple engagement slots are available across skill levels and focus areas.
