About the role

We're looking for a seasoned accounting and audit professional to help shape how advanced AI systems understand and reason through real-world financial and audit work. This is not a traditional accounting job — it's a chance to apply your deep domain expertise to improve the accuracy, rigor, and reliability of AI models tackling complex accounting scenarios.

You'll work closely with research and program teams to define what "correct" looks like in accounting and audit tasks, ensuring that AI-generated reasoning holds up to the standards of a working professional. Your judgment, technical knowledge, and attention to nuance will directly influence the quality of frontier AI capabilities in financial domains.

What you'll do

  • Review and grade AI-generated responses to accounting and audit tasks for technical accuracy, completeness, and professional soundness
  • Author detailed instruction specs and "golden" reference solutions for complex accounting and audit scenarios (e.g., revenue recognition, internal controls, financial statement analysis, audit sampling, GAAP/IFRS application)
  • Identify edge cases, ambiguities, and common failure modes in how AI models approach accounting reasoning
  • Collaborate with research and program management teams to refine task design and evaluation rubrics
  • Provide structured feedback that helps calibrate model performance against real professional standards
  • Document reasoning and edge-case judgment calls clearly enough for non-experts to follow and apply consistently

Requirements

  • Significant professional experience in accounting and/or audit (public accounting, corporate accounting, internal audit, or related fields)
  • CPA license or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred
  • Strong command of GAAP and/or IFRS, audit standards, and financial reporting principles
  • Excellent written communication skills — ability to produce clear, precise, and well-structured technical documentation
  • Comfort working independently on ambiguous, open-ended evaluation tasks
  • Prior exposure to AI, data annotation, or model evaluation work is a plus but not required
  • Based in or able to work within the Bay Area, CA

Compensation

$60–$100 per hour, commensurate with experience and credentials.
