About the role

We're building a curated network of experienced MATLAB users to contribute real-world application expertise on the Windows platform. This is a flexible, remote opportunity for engineers and scientists who already use MATLAB in their daily work and want to share that hands-on knowledge to help improve how professional software tools are understood, documented, and evaluated.

This role is ideal for someone who already has MATLAB installed and working on their own Windows PC — no new software, licenses, or virtual machines will be provided. You bring your existing setup and expertise; we bring the project structure and compensation.

What you'll do

  • Use your own licensed copy of MATLAB on a Windows machine to complete structured, real-world tasks
  • Demonstrate authentic workflows across numerical computing, simulation, and signal/image processing use cases
  • Document your process, decisions, and outputs clearly for review
  • Provide feedback on task clarity, tool behavior, and edge cases encountered
  • Complete tasks independently and on a flexible schedule that fits your availability
  • Maintain consistency and quality across multiple sessions or task batches

Requirements

  • Active, working installation of MATLAB on a Windows PC that you can access today
  • Practical, hands-on experience using MATLAB for engineering, scientific, or technical computing work
  • Background in a relevant STEM discipline (e.g., electrical, mechanical, control systems, aerospace engineering, or applied mathematics/physics)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured task instructions
  • Reliable internet connection and ability to work independently in a remote setting
  • Comfortable documenting technical work clearly in written form

**Nice to have:**

  • Experience with Simulink or MATLAB toolboxes (Signal Processing, Image Processing, Control System)
  • Prior experience in freelance, consulting, or contract-based technical work
  • Familiarity with technical writing or QA/review processes

Compensation

This role is compensated hourly at a competitive rate commensurate with your demonstrated expertise, with flexible scheduling and remote-first work.
