About the role
We're looking for meticulous, detail-oriented AI Data Annotation Specialists to help train and refine next-generation AI models through high-quality video annotation work. In this role, you'll be part of the human layer that makes AI systems smarter, safer, and more reliable — labeling, reviewing, and validating video-based datasets that directly feed into machine learning pipelines. This is a remote, flexible opportunity ideal for sharp, analytical thinkers who take pride in precision and consistency.
What you'll do
- Annotate and label video content according to detailed project guidelines and evolving taxonomy standards
- Review and validate annotations completed by peers to ensure labeling accuracy and consistency
- Identify edge cases, ambiguities, or gaps in labeling instructions and escalate them to the project team
- Collaborate with fellow annotators and project leads to align on interpretation of complex or subjective labeling scenarios
- Maintain high throughput without sacrificing quality, meeting daily/weekly labeling targets
- Provide structured feedback to improve annotation guidelines and tooling
- Support broader AI training initiatives by flagging data quality issues or model failure patterns observed during annotation
Requirements
- Strong command of written and spoken English
- Proven experience with video annotation, data labeling, or similar AI training data work
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to spot subtle inconsistencies
- Strong analytical thinking and sound judgment when interpreting guidelines
- Ability to follow detailed instructions precisely and consistently
- Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a distributed team
- Reliable internet connection and availability for consistent work hours
**Nice to have:**
- Prior experience working on AI/ML training data projects
- Familiarity with annotation tools and platforms
- Background in linguistics, data science, or quality assurance
Compensation
This role offers competitive hourly compensation ranging from $40 to $80 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated annotation accuracy. Fully remote, with flexible scheduling to accommodate global contributors.
