About the role
We're looking for an experienced Aerodynamics Expert to join a remote, project-based team supporting the creation, review, and refinement of high-quality technical content in aerospace and mechanical engineering. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in aerodynamics and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) who enjoys translating complex engineering concepts into clear, accurate, and well-structured technical material. You'll work alongside other domain specialists to evaluate technical accuracy, contribute original explanations, and help shape rigorous, expert-level knowledge resources used to train and validate advanced technical reasoning systems.
What you'll do
- Author, review, and refine technical explanations, problem sets, and documentation covering aerodynamics, CFD, thermofluids, and related aerospace/mechanical engineering topics
- Apply critical analysis to evaluate the correctness, clarity, and depth of technical submissions from peers or automated systems
- Distill complex aerodynamic and fluid dynamics concepts into accessible, well-organized technical writing
- Participate in peer review cycles, providing constructive, detailed feedback on technical accuracy and methodology
- Collaborate remotely with a distributed team of subject matter experts, engineers, and content reviewers
- Contribute experimental methods knowledge and real-world engineering context to strengthen the rigor of technical materials
- Help optimize review and documentation workflows to improve consistency and turnaround time
- Communicate findings, edge cases, and technical nuances clearly in both written and verbal formats
Requirements
- Strong background in aerodynamics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and thermofluids
- Formal training or professional experience in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear, precise technical writing and documentation
- Experience with peer review processes and critical evaluation of technical work
- Familiarity with experimental methods in fluid dynamics or aerodynamic testing
- Excellent verbal communication skills for remote collaboration and knowledge-sharing sessions
- Comfortable working independently in a distributed, asynchronous team environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to technical accuracy
Compensation
This is a remote, flexible-engagement opportunity compensated hourly at competitive rates commensurate with expertise, ranging from $80 to $130 per hour. Engagement scope and hours are flexible based on project needs and availability.
