About the role
We're building a pipeline of high-value, accounting-focused engagements with leading AI research teams — covering audit reasoning, financial reporting, tax analysis, GAAP/IFRS interpretation, and adjacent specialty workstreams. Before we finalize the scope and structure of these engagements, we want to understand how accounting professionals *actually* work day-to-day — not the textbook version, and not what's already documented in public sources.
This is a paid, written intake process designed to capture real workflows, tools, decision points, edge cases, and specialty distinctions from inside the profession. Your input will directly shape how future accounting-domain engagements are scoped, structured, and staffed on our platform — meaning strong contributors here will be first in line for the larger, ongoing engagements that follow.
What you'll do
- Complete a structured written intake describing your real-world accounting workflows, decision-making processes, and areas of specialization
- Detail the tools, software, and reference materials you rely on day-to-day (ERP systems, audit software, tax platforms, spreadsheets, internal checklists, etc.)
- Walk through specific scenarios or judgment calls that are difficult to codify from public documentation alone — e.g., audit sampling decisions, revenue recognition edge cases, tax position judgment calls, or GAAP/IFRS reconciliation nuances
- Identify where automation or AI assistance would (and wouldn't) meaningfully help in your specialty area
- Optionally flag interest in follow-on paid engagements matched to your specific sub-specialty (audit, tax, financial reporting, technical accounting, etc.)
Requirements
- Professional accounting experience in at least one specialty area (audit, tax, financial reporting, GAAP/IFRS technical accounting, forensic accounting, or similar)
- Strong written communication skills — able to clearly articulate workflows and reasoning in detail
- Familiarity with standard accounting/audit/tax tools and platforms used in professional practice
- Comfort describing nuanced, judgment-based decision points rather than only textbook procedures
- CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred but not required if experience is substantial
Compensation
This engagement pays $80–$120/hour depending on experience and specialty depth, with strong intake submissions used to prioritize invitations to larger, ongoing accounting-domain engagements as they open.
