About the role
We're looking for a seasoned Accounts Receivable Follow-Up Manager to help shape the next generation of AI-powered revenue cycle tools. In this role, you'll bring your real-world expertise in claim status follow-up, payer correspondence, and denial resolution to evaluate, test, and refine AI systems designed to automate A/R follow-up and payer collections workflows.
This is a remote, project-based opportunity for someone who has spent years navigating the complexities of commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care payer relationships—and who wants to apply that knowledge to help build smarter, faster automation for the healthcare revenue cycle industry.
What you'll do
- Evaluate AI-generated outputs related to claim status follow-up, payer correspondence, and A/R aging workflows for accuracy, completeness, and industry realism.
- Review and score AI-driven recommendations for reducing days in A/R and accelerating revenue recovery across multiple payer types.
- Provide detailed, structured feedback to help train and fine-tune AI models on real-world A/R follow-up scenarios.
- Simulate and assess payer correspondence workflows, including appeals, resubmissions, and escalations.
- Identify gaps, errors, or unrealistic assumptions in AI-generated claim resolution strategies.
- Collaborate with a research and evaluation team to iterate on prompts, rubrics, and evaluation criteria.
- Document edge cases and nuanced payer-specific rules that AI systems commonly miss.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience managing A/R follow-up operations, ideally at a manager or senior specialist level.
- Deep familiarity with commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care claim workflows.
- Strong understanding of denial management, appeals processes, and payer correspondence best practices.
- Ability to critically evaluate written or structured outputs for accuracy and industry relevance.
- Excellent written communication skills for providing clear, actionable feedback.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment.
- Prior exposure to AI evaluation, quality assurance, or training data work is a plus but not required.
Compensation
This engagement offers a competitive hourly rate of $75/hour, commensurate with your revenue cycle management expertise. Engagement is remote and flexible, structured around project milestones and evaluation cycles.
